Abstract

Aesthetic procedures to combat the aging process can also be used as an complementary treatment for many skin diseases. When wishing to use them, the question should always be whether it will worsen the underlying disease process. The author of this article focuses on treatments with bioimplants and platelet-rich plasma in patients with autoimmune diseases such as systemic scleroderma (treatment of microstomia and microglia), scleroderma en coup de sabre, and systemic lupus. It should be emphasized that the abovementioned treatments are not used in the active phase of the disease in question, and their performance requires the use of products of very good and proven quality. In no case can they be performed by unauthorized (nonmedical) persons.
