Filler treatments in correcting facial shape

lek. Barbara Walkiewicz-Cyrańska, specj. derm.

Key words: face shape, skeletal support, hyaluronic acid

Abstract

Aesthetic medicine currently offers techniques to bring facial features closer to the oval shape, which is now considered, for cultural reasons, the most desirable. By administering a filler, an increase in volume, the creation of convexities and depressions in the given areas of the face is achieved, correcting its appearance.
The location and method of administration of the filler depend on the shape that the face undergoing correction has. Hyaluronic acidwith appropriately selected rheological properties is used in this type of treatment.
