Antioxydant potential of the microalgae Tetraselmis chui and Haematococcus pluvialis

Abstract

Scientific research has confirmed that microalgae are a valuable source of nutrients and compounds with a significant antioxidant, antiinflammatory and immunostimulating potential activating the immune system. The algae Tetraselmis chui and Haematococcus pluvialis are particularly active in promoting health. Superoxide dismutase was isolated from Tetraselmis chui and the product TetraSOD® was developed, while astaxanthin was isolated from Haematococcus pluvialis and has been approved as a safe dietay ingredient. Their anpotiaging potential and improving skin function is very promising.
