Abstract

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of low temperatures on cellulite reduction, on the basis of the available literature. When preparing the paper, Polish and international literature was analysed, found by using the PubMed, Google Scholar, and ResearchGate search engines, as well as visiting the official website of the Kosmetologia Estetyczna (Aesthetic Cosmetology) journal.

The relationship between the way low temperatures affect the human body and the mechanisms leading to cellulite formation suggests that cryogenic temperatures can be effectively applied to address this condition. Exposing fat tissue to low temperatures has a favourable impact on cellulite reduction. The appearance of the skin also improves. Cryolipolysis is a new technology that continues to develop and gains in popularity.
