Streszczenie
Pochwica jest dysfunkcją seksualną występującą u kobiet, należącą do zaburzeń seksualnych związanych z bólem. Problem dotyczy od kilku do kilkunastu procent pacjentek. Etiopatogeneza zaburzeń jest złożona i często wieloczynnikowa.
Skuteczność leczenia zależy od właściwej analizy zgłaszanych dolegliwości oraz wnikliwie przeprowadzonej diagnostyki. Prezentowana publikacja skupia się na istotnej, aczkolwiek nie jedynej przyczynie dolegliwości, jaką jest dysfunkcja mięśni dna miednicy w postaci ich nadmiernego napięcia.
Wśród opisywanych metod leczenia obiecujące jest zastosowanie neuromodulatora – toksyny botulinowej – w celu zmniejszenia napięcia mięśni dna miednicy. W artykule przedstawiono przegląd badań dotyczących zastosowania BoNT-A w leczeniu nadmiernego napięcia mięśni otaczających pochwę oraz omówiono podstawowe techniki zabiegowe.

Abstract
Vaginismus is a sexual dysfunction occurring in women, belonging to pain-related sexual disorders.The problem affects several to several percent of female patients. The etiopathogenesis of the disorder is complex and often multifactorial.
The effectiveness of treatment depends on a proper analysis of the reported complaints and a thorough diagnosis. The presented publication focuses on an important, but not the only cause of the ailment, which is dysfunction of the pelvic floor muscles in the form of their excessive tension.
Among the treatments described, the use of a neuromodulator – botulinum toxin – to reduce pelvic floor muscle tension is promising. This article presents a review of studies on the use of BoNT-A to treat excessive tension in the muscles surrounding the vagina and discusses basic treatment techniques.
