Complications after facial aesthetic procedures – practical tips (1). A case of a vascular complication following of hyaluronic acid injection

Abstract

The author presents the case of a female-patient in whom an unauthorized person (beautician) did an injection and administered a filler with hyaluronic acid in the area of forehead wrinkles. The patient reported to the doctor 10 days after the incident. The author recognized a vascular complication and applied the treatment, after which the lesions resolved after 30 days, leaving a slight scar.
The author discusses vascular complications following of hyaluronic acid injections and methods of treating such complications.
